It has been roughly a year since I was posting and wanted to take a moment here, to thank you all and also possibly to inspire some of you.

As you know I was suffering terribly from regular and severe vertigo attacks. I already have menieres and a small benign tumour in my good ear... My life became miserably unpredictable. I was afraid to travel alone, fly (having had attacks on the plane), and even hold a dinner party as attacks would happen in the middle.

Its fortunate that I gave up on the ENT who is reputed to be the best at the ENT hospital dept.
His recommendations were useless and his bedside manner was zero.
Tried all the therapies - some such as Bowen Technique and Cranio. All were temporary solutions.
Then neurologist, and eventually to a second ENT.
It just so happened this Dr. (Maloney) suffers migraines. Triggers such as red wine, chocolate, barometric changes also affect her migraines.
She had been to a conference in Florida where there was some new evidence linking the migraines (and potentially sinuses) to vertigo. Some of you may know the diagnosis Vestibular Migraines.
Before trying some surgical procedures she recommended I take the same medication that she takes - Effexor (Venlaxafine). It took some modifications, but it works!! I did have migraine and sinus issues when much younger.'
Now I rarely have an attack . If I do, it lasts a minute or two. Usually triggered by mistakenly eating chocolate, or cheap red wine with sulfates.

So to all of you - thank you for the support when I needed it most..... Please dont give up. Keep trying. Keep fighting and if I can help or answer anyone's questions, please feel free to pm me!!
    Best,. Jen

    That is wonderful!! Yay!!

A lot of us here, including me, here have Vestibular Migraines. Often we call it MAV for Migraine Associated Vertigo. I have been able to eliminate mine by eliminating migraine triggers. For me the main one is eyestrain, and getting computer glasses was the key.
