Hi, This procedure came up in on a fatique discussion and thought I would move it to a new thread. I am curious to know if anyone has had the procedure? And if so, what were the results. Here are a couple of links explaining the procedure. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25403881 http://www.optecoto.com/article/S1043-1810(16)30055-0/abstract
I had the Endolymphatic Shunt procedure--not sure if it's also called 'blockage' procedure. Is that what you are asking?
ps: Just looked at the website posted. It is a different procedure evidently. I plan to ask my Ent when I see him in Sept. I have not had vertigo since my Endo-shunt procedure in 2012! Other than a few the first two weeks (which I was told to expect). --since then, none! However, you can see my posts and know that I have tinnitus, head fullness/pressure daily--dizziness off and on and balance issues that are better since having balance therapy.
Yes, it is a completely procedure than the shunt procedure. I read past posts on here but there is not a lot of info from people who have had it done, except one person who said shortly after the procedure it was successful. The person does not seem to give been on the forum in a while now though. Not sure if that means they have simply stopped coming no to the forum as they are no longer are dealing with symptoms?
Here is a thread a couple years ago talking about this unique procedure. There is was also a link to form in the Netherlands about a person having success with the procedure, after some initial challenges, but I cannot find it right now. The doctor in the Netherlands was trained by the doctor in Canada who pioneered the procedure. I have emailed the Dr. too see if the success rate is still ove 96% of complete control of vertigo. Marta is on this blog and has had the EBD (Endolymphaic Duct Procedure) done. I think it has been quite successful but she would be the best one to contact to ask questions about it. Search the Members tab and you can send her a pm.
