Agree. Every day is sunshiny and warm here in SoCal. It's monotonous. I like overcast days and a bit of windblown chill. I think I'd fit in very well in England. Or Seattle. I grew up off the shores of Lake Erie. Life felt real. This California thing makes my head soft. The sun is like a guest that won't leave. OK OK I get it already, you're big and bright and yellow and everyone loves you. You don't have to be the life of the party ALL the time Just give it a rest.
We haven't had any significant rain in months. We've had little teases every now and then in the from of sprinkles and one early morning we got light rain for a couple of hours, but nothing that amounts to anything. Rainfall is 11 inches below normal for this time of year. The grass is brown and crunchy underfoot and we haven't had to mow for four or five weeks. Leaves are turning yellow and falling. The earth is brick-hard with cracks a foot deep. I'm thankful the 100+ temperatures and stifling humidity are gone, but it's feeling too much like fall, way too early.
I wish I could send the European rain to you Cheryl. I hope you get it soon! Mother Nature can't be so cruel after all
Not exactly, Pupper. Iowa. I'm not exaggerating about the foot deep cracks. Our neighbor used a yardstick to measure a crack in his yard. One foot deep!
Here you go Cheryl. Play this over and over! I love the Guess Who. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rRo9NXw6W-g
I'll do it! It sure can't hurt. Sixty percent chance of rain on Wednesday. Everybody cross your fingers!
