This is what I've been talking about for a little bit now. I have found success by wearing an orthotic made by a tmj specialist (not a regular dentist). My condyle was resting on my ear. I found this out after I was dx with Menieres. I really don't believe I had Menieres, but I really had TMJ. Meniere's NO More is a FB site that was started by a woman who suffered with Menieres for 25 years and then found out she actually had TMJ. It is her passion now to spread the word. She helped me to find that I suffer from TMJ also, and now it is my passion to spread the word. Please check out this study. https://www.facebook.com/MenieresNoMore/posts/1402936226491596?fref=gc&dti=1577831952495456&hc_location=ufi
With my luck, after they cut my balance nerve, the next day they'll discover Meniere's is caused by simply wearing the wrong shoe size.
I'm fairly sure I have both Meniere's and TMJ (also MAV and BPPV--woohoo!). Pupper, I don't think it's just about luck. I think there is a lot being learned right now about these conditions, and more to come. They are complicated. There's a lot to sort out. And doctors, unfortunately don't have clear answers, and can't even tell us when they don't. The first ENT I saw said, "I'm not going to diagnose you with Meniere's because that's a dead end diagnosis." So she called it Eustachian Tube disorder and something else I can't even remember now. I thought she was doing me a favor, and if it hadn't been for the Affordable Care Act, I might still be spinning and damaging my aural nerve, but I got better healthcare and a doctor who said Menieres and Migraine, and another who said BPPV. Those words led me to solutions that actually helped, including finding this place. It's been a very long road, but I've had much improvement, and when I have setbacks now, I have ways to address them.
