Can you use 25-50 mg daily of Mecklizine long-term? It seems that when I try to go off of it, I eventually (after two weeks or so) get such a fullness in my ears mainly because of allergies that I end up with vertigo. I also take immunotherapy allergy injections and have been on them for 2 1/2years, Singulair and Xyzal for my allergies...it just doesn't seem to control the fullness in my ears well enough.

How many mg did you take daily? did you also take other antihistamines while on it?

25 mg most of the time. Sometimes 50. No other histamines.

Meclizine is used for the control of motion sickness, vertigo, nausea, vomiting and dizziness. I don't think it will help control fullness in the ears. I've had Meniere's for 44+ years and I've always been advised to use meclizine only when needed. It never has helped me when it comes to a full blown attack of vertigo, but for mild dizziness and nausea when my ears feel full, it provides some relief.

I usually take 50 mg at a time, not routinely, but on an as needed basis.
