One Day, I would not give up completely on the A/V's yet. I found relief with Northstar brand and then was given 3 different brands that were ineffective. Upon returning to the Northstar brand, the symptoms appear to be gone again. Could be a coincidence but I don't think so. Also, the hyperacusis is not a typical Menieres symptom (as far as I know). Perhaps you can treat the hyperacusis differently (with tinnitus retraining therapy) and then be able to treat the Menieres in the future with the A/V's. And don't forget what your original plan was - if you didn't find relief after 90 days you were going to try the chiro. I did the NUCCA chiro a few months ago so who's to say that the one treatment I had there isn't playing a role in my current good health along with the AV's and JOH.
teesdale, One thing MD has taught me is not to expect what seems normal or logical. My symptoms have been on a 30 day cycle (approx) for the past year. With the hyperacusis gone, I am waiting to see if it returns as a part of my cycle or if it was a side affect of the AV I was on. I am feeling pretty good right now, planning to visit my GP to talk about closing the loop with a scan of my head. After that, the next logical step is NUCCA. I may be hesitating as once I play that card, I have no other cards remaining in my hand. As my ENT so aptly delivered; I need to get used to it and move on. Another thing that 60 years has taught me is that life isn't fair. The book of Job is a good lesson in this regard. I'm hangin in there trying to enjoy the good days. At least planning for retirement has been fun. Nothing like starting a new adventure to lift the spirits.
