Has anyone done any research into all of the Herpes Vaccine research that is currently taking place? I know Rational Vaccines did human testing off shore. They got a lot of negative press for it but honestly I am glad they are in a rush. The rumor was that they had very good results. They have since promised the FDA that they would follow their guidelines going forward. Which means it may take much longer...ugh! Also there is a Dr. Friedman out of UPenn doing some great research. The reason I think it may be closer than we think is because what recently happened with Genocea. They are a small biotech out of Cambridge Mass. They had just completed a fairly successful phase 2 study on a cure for Type 2 Hepres. It was basically an improvement on Valtrex. Just last month rather than proceed to a costly Phase 3 trial, they walked away from the research saying it was up for sale. Just seemed strange to me. From the outside...this tells me that maybe they realize they may be up against the clock on a vaccine. Has anyone gotten any feedback from John from Ohio on if a potential vaccine might be able to help Menieres patients. No obviously it is not out yet...so it would be purely a guess on his part but I would be interested to hear his thoughts if you have heard them. Hope everyone has a great day...hang in there!!
Define vaccine? Would it be intended for babies and young children? Almost everyone is exposed to many of these herpes viruses in early childhood. Or something intended to prevent reoccurrence like the shingles vaccine?
It is like the shingles vacinne apparently. They tested it on 20 humans in St Kitts last year. All of which had type 2 herpes. Word is they had a very high success rate. I don't think I can add links here but I will try. Obviously it was not 100 percent but the fact that they are racing to get something to market is good news for all of us!!
This aired on CBS in NYC https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0QXhYRgFIjI There is a lot about it all over the internet. Take a look and let me know what you think!
Not all Menieres are the same. However there is a strong reason to think there is a connection to Herpes for many...take a look at John from Ohio's regimen. You can google it.
Yes, for many it is. In fact, Dr. Gacek and many other hearing centers (including Tampa Bay Hearing) are reporting success rates of 90% for antiviral treatments. Scott, Where do I find a doctor that will give me that much anti viral? I am really struggling man. 9 years with menieres. 90 percent hearing loss in right ear. I have two little girls in diapers. Work is a grind everyday. I live close to NYC.. do you know of any doctors?? Thanks bro.
I'm not up north, but you can go to any doctor or nurse practitioner. You don't need a specialist. Just call around and ask if they have an open mind about off label drugs.
If you call around saying that no one will want to see you. You just go to a regular MD general Prac. and ask for Valacyclovir or Famciclovir and write down the dosage (like 500 mg tid for Fam., and I need 60 pills and 2 refills, dont push it for more on your first visit) . Just hand it to the doctor and say thats what you have been taking for menieres disease. You can show them a copy of Gazeks study if you want. If they think you have been taking it already they will not flinch about giving it to you. Write it all down and hand it to them. Say this is what I want.
Good call Dwayne. I will call around next week. I think that's a smart approach. Do you find Valtrex helps you?
That's exactly how i found an open-minded doctor to see me. It's also how i got a new doctor to see me after i just moved. You'd be surprised how many doctors are looking for new patients. It's how they make money to pay off that huge medical school loan. This might work, but sometimes they will want doctor's records to back up your story. If you have a positive test for herpes, it will go a lot easier.
