This may seem like a strange topic...but I've been thinking about it recently. Many athletes say the main reason they take steroids/hgh to perform is because it allows their body to heal faster. Which basically means it lowers the inflammation in the body/joints. if thats true...would steroids/hgh work for MM? I understand it would not address the root cause of the issue (virus, fungus, allergies, bacteria, head injury) but would it provide relief? Since it is the lingering inflammation (no matter what our individual cause) that does the most damage to the ear. I am not referring to the prednisone that we all have been on from our doctors but rather the high-end designer steroids/hgh that the top athletes in the world are on. Just a thought...wonder if any one with a science back ground
Steroids suppress the immune system, which would likely have the opposite effect you're looking for if it's a viral cause.
What about HGH? http://www.hgh10.com/hgh-increases-immune-system-function/ any truth to this? I don't have a science background...but if the top athletes all across the world take it with literally no side effects...I wonder if it would help/hurt MM?
Steroids work incredibly for me. BOTH injections and oral pills. YES it could lower your immune system but not for everyone and not all the time. Steroids are used to treat just about EVERY inflammatory disease and it's prescribe for Meniere's often. I have used the 5 day dose pack many times but the 2 WEEK Prednisone 10 mg work the BEST. It bring down the inflammation in my ear when I'm having a crisis. The funny thing is that while on Prednisone (steriods) my recovery on the bicycle is amazing. I still ride competitively and my legs are often sore and tired. While on prednisone my legs recover like if I was a teen. LOL I also use the steroid ear injections once per month. It helps a lot. However. It doesn't cure Meniere's.
