Is it possible to offset the effects of high arginine/low lysine foods by eating High lysine/low arginine foods and or taking lysine pills? I've got some chocolate left over from Christmas and am wondering if this will help lessen the blow of eating it.

Not in my experience, although I think it’s the caffeine in chocolate that triggers me. I take 2000mg of lysine daily and I had a couple pieces of Dove dark chocolate yesterday and today my ear is screaming and full.

As long as the ratio is good, then you're ok. Some foods are high in both, and that's ok As long as there is more lysine.
