Hey all! I am new to the forum and to this journey. I started having symptoms in my left ear in October, saw my PCP as well as an ENT. Went through MRI, hearing assessment, and VNG. The VNG was within normal range but the ENT said that it takes a while for all of the symptoms to align. I will follow up with them in 6 months. I have suffered from daily headaches for YEARS. I have seen a neurologist and they haven't been able to help me. I am on a very low sodium diet and it has helped to control the symptoms for the most part. It has helped with my headaches some as well. My hearing assessment showed a loss of lower tones in my left ear. The roaring, eardrum vibrations, fullness, and vertigo vary from day to day and sometimes minute to minute.

For the last 2-3 weeks, my right ear has started feeling full, popping and crackling like the left one did initially. I have been having pain in both ears and down behind them. It is hard to explain. Some are sharp and others are just aches. I have found that if I lay my head on one side or the other, like holding a phone on my shoulder, it makes the pains worse. Have you experienced the same sort of pains? Have you found anything that helps?

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome. I have had MM for 15 or so years. In the last year it has developed into something mean and I have experienced some symptoms that I hadn't before. One of those is inner ear pain, only in my affected (right) ear. They come after attacks, and are actually quite painful. They come and go in 30 second intervals and last for a few hours. I can only assume this is from the damage occurng to the inner ear when we suffer attacks, but I have no proof of that.

Regardless, I'd make a follow up visit with the ENT to rule out anything else that could be causing pain. Good luck!

I too have had frequent headaches. I took excedrine almost every day for years but since you mentioned it they are less since starting low sodium diet and Acyclovir in Feb. 2017. I got regular massages for a while at the end of last year and the therapist was a skilled healer so that helped me immensely but no longer in the budget.
I've had body aches and pains since age 18. I've used moist heat and taken scads of ibuprofen, never more than 600 mg in a day and thankfully I've always had normal blood work except one of the white blood cell counts would be elevated (no Dr ever thought it was a concern, now i wonder if a virus could have been responsible for the elevation).
My best to everyone. I'm doing well on low sodium and Acyclovir 800mg 2 x day.
currently in the middle of a root canal procedure and have had severe intermittent pain in teeth and right TMJ.
