Ok so my doctors have had me retire after 27 years. So i got early medical retirement. I have now applied for Social Security disability. Just curious if any of you have had to do this? Is it hard to get. I have seen numerous doctors and still suffer from this horrible disease. Menieres Disease and Gentamicin injections just about did me in. My doctor said that my brain is not compensating for the disequilibrium. I have good days and bad days. Dizzy spells every day. Thank you Terry
Terry, I too was forced to retire early from my "second" career operating commercial vehicles due to this nasty disease. And yes disability is available as the Social Security Administration includes Meniere's disease under category 2.07, Disturbance of Labyrinthine-vestibular Function. This would be due to the severe vertigo most of us endure. The best way IMHO would be to contact a lawyer that specializes in disability law.
Dec 4 my doc did the same thing i filed lastbweek for ss disabilty as well i am going to try and i am sure i will get denied the first time then i will appeal then see what happens , if no luck then i will contact a attorney . Good luck
