Hell All, My father had vertigo on Aug17 after 3 days of left ear heavy. After consulting ENT doctor, he said that he has lost hearing in left ear. Vertigo got reduced after 2-3 days after having medicine prescribed by doc..We also consulted Neuro and done MRI to cut out all possible reason. MRI is normal. He is complaining more about heaviness feeling on left forehead which reduces some time and increases sometime...apart from forehead heaviness he also has tinitus (whizzing sound) in left ear and some time left ear also becomes heavy with pressure...there is improvement in hearing in left ear after latest audiology test.. we also done CT scan of both of ear after doctor advise and its all normal. He is very much disturbed about not feeling fresh because of heaviness in left forehead... for him everything looks heavy. Because of this he is very disturb, nervous and anxious. Some time he feels dizziness. I dont know if its Menier. Do you think if this can be cured by homeopath? Is it Menier disease? His right ear is normal.
My Dr. tried me on an antiviral medication and a low sodium diet I feel 90% better. Some here find a regimen called John of Ohio helpful no prescription necessary. There are some links to his research on this forum or you could search the web for John of Ohio Menieres. My best to you and your father.
Welcome Pawan. My suggestion is to read threads here to see the various things that have helped other people. Two things in particular to look at are antivirals (acyclovir, valtrex or famvir) sometimes called AV’s and Migraine Associated Vertigo (MAV). The book often recommended re migraines association with vertigo is Heal Your Headache. Keep working with your own doctor too. Sometimes it is something unique going on. Good Luck. I hope things get better soon.
This is all 'so scary' as everyone here can 'relate' to sharing many of the symptoms your father has. Not sure of his age--but I'm a senior too and it hit me hard about 10 years ago. I've been up and down and after a 'shunt' surgery, no more vertigo--but as with many here, still deal with dizziness/head pressure and tinnitus. Some days are better than others and there are many good suggestions on this board on how to deal with many of your father's issues. Tell him he's 'not alone' and do find a good Neuro-ent if you haven't done so. I now wear bilateral hearing aids as it has affected my hearing alot. Keep us posted on his progress please. This board will give him alot of support.
