Had a VA hearing test on Feb 12, and my Tinnitus was so bad, I could only differentiate about 30-40% of the spoken words. Audiologist suggested I guess, but in my business, words mean things, and misspoken terms have serious consequences, so I informed her I could not in good conscientious guess. My low frequency as well as high frequency tones were also dismal. I also suffer from imbalance from time to time, and believe I may have Meniere's, and need to be tested to confirm or disprove it. My hearing has been severely damaged by extreme noise levels while serving aboard USS Enterprise CVAN-65, by high speed turbines, feed pumps for reactor cooling, ASCACs, and jet engine blasts. As I have aged, these symptoms have progressively become worse. I appreciate a site where I can discuss my problems with knowledgeable people suffering from some of the same maladies, and hope to learn more here.
