This is the second time in 4 months that I've had bronchitis and I'm wondering if my immune system could be compromised by MM. Does anyone else think that they get sick more often since being diagnosed with MM?
I also had bronchitis 2 times this past year in about 6 months. I have had mm for 23 years now I personally don’t think it does anything to the immune system. They I do take supplements that are supposed to support a strong immune system.
Starting a year before my menieres, i began getting various herpes viruses (cmv, e-b, shingles etc) and they always looked like first time occurrnces in the lab although the dr’s found this very unlikely at my age. One more time and i go to a specialist in this area. But yes, something looks like of out of whack but not bad enough to tear the place up trying to sort it out as long as the ear stays good. With my history it doesnt esp surprise me or thr drs that i respond to antivirals.
I think it is more likely the inverse; that bronchitis & Meniere's capitalised on an already compromised immune system. No, I am however atypical.
Hasn't been a problem for me. Besides the standard symptoms of the MM, I haven't had any other kind of issues with sickness, as a matter fact I was thinking that since i'm on the JOH and my body is flooded with LYSINE that I probably would be highly UNLIKELY to get general colds, etc.
thanks for the feedback i'll stay focused on how few MM symptoms i have rather than this temporary illness
I think mine is compromised. I do my best to ignore every time I’m ill and keep going, but that’s not always possible. Plus, we’re all human. I often end up mentally berating myself and thinking, “why can’t you handle being sick as well as __?” When my rational brain returns I have to remind myself, “__ doesn’t have Meniere’s, so who knows how he/she would cope with any additional illness on top of this monster?!”
Autumn, Thank you for your response. I so often tell myself to stop whining, that my symptoms are very mild and that many people suffer far more than I. That's really just berating myself, not being honest and doesn't help me or anyone else. I'm always glad to hear some simply state their truth as I have here many times. I tested positive for flu type B. i've had symptoms, frequent cough, for 2 weeks. Thankfully I was only in bed for 2 days. I so appreciate this forum because even with mild symptoms I have worked very little for a year which takes getting used to for me.
