    Hi all,

I haven't been here for a bit. I had a strange occurrence yesterday and wondered if this has happened to anyone else.

I was standing in the kitchen and it felt like a one second earthquake or a very strong wind hit. I grabbed the counter and it ended. For the rest of the day, I had a very bad head pressure. My balance was a little off right after the occurrence also. When I have the bad head pressure, I usually feel the residuals the next day...it is there, but not as bad. I think I can also describe the bad head pressure as a cross between a bad migraine and a bad tension headache.

I know the difference between the head pressure and a headache. I've had a headache at the same time as the head pressure.

I also have hyperacusis. Any suggestions on how to deal with it would be nice. I hate wearing ear plugs in restaurants. The food looses a little flavor when you can hear yourself chewing the food.

Thank You in advance for your thoughts and ideas.

Migraine? I dont know, just thought it maight be worth exploring MAV.

Restaurants are just a pain. Since antivirals got rid of distortion for me they have not been as bad but with unilateral hearing, they are still pretty challenging.

Head pressure is a 'constant' with me, unfortunately! I can wake up in the morning, feeling good and usually after being upright for anywhere from 15 mins. to an hour--the pressure begins.
No pain--just pressure. Makes me feel a bit 'off balance' when I walk, so I really concentrate so as not to walk like I'm drunk (and I don't drink at all).

I've had this so long, it's just part of my life. I've had Ct scans, meds, seen my Ent, Primary, and a Neurologist and Cardiologist and now, a Pulmonologist for another problem and no one has an answer or remedy for it. It affects my hearing too--and the roaring in my head is worse when it's bad. Some days are a 'bit' better and pressure not quite so bad--but most days I just have to deal with it.

Some days it 'wears me out' as I try to keep on and do what needs doing--go etc. But many days I have to sit back in my recliner and will fall asleep due to how it affects me. Sure would love to know why this is a part of all this. No pain--but hearing is worse and the pressure never really gives me much of a break.
