Hello, Greetings, everyone! I've been diagnosed with Menieres' disease since 2012. I thought the dizziness will go away as times go on. But I am still having dizziness every month. Especially after my menstruation cycle. I wonder why. I tried to talk with my ENT doctors. But they just ignore my talking and giving the same medicine over and over again which gives me no relief. Does anyone also have this problem? I read somewhere on the internet that some will face this issue and it will only go away after menopause. Which I need to wait long time to happen. My only concerns now is the dizziness and it really cause to much trouble to my work. If it happens, it takes about one week to recover. Sometimes it will last for one whole month then I can work again. Anybody have any solutions for this. I am trying JOH regimen starting from first 3 supplements. But for now whenever I take Lemon Bioflavonoid, i feel nauseous. So, I stopped for a while. It would be nice if someone can suggest something. Thank you so much. Have a nice day to all!
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention what type of dizziness I suffer from. I had spinning sensation only twice during this 5 years. Everything around is spinnig even if I close my eyes. And the dizziness I got evey month is something like not having clear head after an afternoon nap. But a bit more intense. And I can't move my neck. It makes me feel more giddy. Slight movement that involves my head will make me feel more giddy. It starts around the joint of skull and my neck, I guess. Sometimes, I also feel it going down to my spine. I don't know if my explanation is correct or not. Pardon me for my English. I do feel ear block but not all the times. Every time I mentioned my ear is blocked, doctors here try to clean my ear which doesn't help. And also every time water went in my ear, I got the dizzy. I don't know if this all make sense to all of you but I hope someone can point me to the correct direction. Thank you.
To my knowledge, Meniere's isn't tied to menstrual cycles, but migraine associated vertigo can be. They have similar symptoms. Maybe you have some of both. The fullness in your ear is typical Meniere's, as is tinnitus, vertigo, and fluctuating hearing loss, particularly in the lower tones. If possible, try to find a doctor who is an otoneurologist -- someone who specializes in the ear and brain link. There's lots of good information here as you look around in the archives, database, and living room sections. We're all here trying to figure out how to live with the symptoms and share our knowledge with each other. It helps to know you are not facing this alone. Welcome, and best of luck to you.
eiwai, Lots of discussion in the archives about Meniere's and menstrual cycles. Try this: http://www.menieres.org/forum/index.php?action=search2
Have your doctor put you on the pill non-stop. I do this with minovral (Ovima) and have for 15 years. You start the new pack as soon as the old pack is done (you don't stop for the week in-between). This stops your period altogether. I've gotten some intermittent spotting, but managed without periods and all the suffering they bring!
