Has anyone one this forum taking antivirals for over a year? I’m just worried this will cause harm to my kidneys because, I ‘ve read it can happen. I go to the doctor for a physical this week and will get blood work done. I hope everything is fine smh ‍♀️. I’m scared . Any feedback is appreciated.

I've taken them for about a year. Make sure to get your kidney checked every year to make sure nothing bad is happening. It's rare but it is one of the side effects that have been reported. Frankly, I'm more worried about alcohol than I am the anti-virals.

That said my GP - No I'm not a doctor so this is third hand - mentioned that it's one of the safest things they have prescribed.

I believe people with genital herpes stay on antivirals long term.

I can only give you my personal experience but I have been on them now for a year and a half and my blood work so far has been fine.

I have been on antivirals for over a decade. No issue. I do get an annual bloodtest to check kidney and liver issues, as well as general blood work.
