This is wonderful!! I would like to know more about what qualifies a person for consideration for this transplant. Also, maybe I missed it in the article but what is the transplant? Like what do they use? I noticed in the article it said that after all his improvement Rick's oscillopsia returned. I wonder why?
It is basically a CI but instead of stimulating the cochlea nerve it stimulates the balance nerve. I believe they have a combo VI/CI to take care of both. I believe Ricks ossolopsia came back while running the 5k but he could continue running... it has since disappeared. and in an interview I read with him he is back to riding his motorcycle and competing in Ironmen and training with marines and playing competitive golf.
