Has anyone ever had more than one vertigo attack in the same day? I thought I was controlling this issue with Meclizine. The last two attacks (both minor) I had, I took some Meclizine immediately upon symptoms. I thought it had worked. No full blown attack. Sunday driving home from the club, one hit me. It wasn't that bad, took some Meclizine, tried to fight it, but ended up napping for about an hour, and then all was well after getting up. Made myself a big dinner (mistake) and sat down to watch a movie. It hit like a ton of bricks around 7 pm. If I had been standing I would have fallen. Worst attack yet. Ate more Meclizine, but to no avail. Dinner returned the wrong way. Three hours of misery. It appears I may be getting minor attacks and major attacks? Anyone experience minor and major attacks? Thanks Jim
Hey, Jim I have, & I have. While I haven't experienced an episode of vertigo for many years, those I have experienced ranged significantly in duration, sweeping anywhere from 5 - 30 minutes to 12 - 16 hours. Correspondingly, though independent of duration, the severity of these episodes varied remarkably, too. Welcome to the forum, alas the unwelcome circumstances, by the way.
(Moreover, note the restraint & maturity exhibited by the wise-ass comment I didn't author in reference to the title of this thread.)
Not twice in one day, but yes to 3 days in a row. Usually, after an event, I sleep for 3 hours minimum. Sometimes I go to bed in the afternoon and sleep until the next morning after a bad one.
If you know the right way, we're having the wrong conversation. Yes, I've experienced exactly what you're describing. I'm so sorry you're on this rollercoaster. Meclizine is one of the first line treatments. Plenty of other things to throw at this monster, take heart.
Dramamine and Valium were mine, when I needed them. For whatever reason, Meclizine never worked for me, but Dramamine worked pretty well. Apparently both Dramamine and Meclizine work for some but not others. I knew someone who didn't have Meniere's but was very prone to seasickness, yet loved to go on boats to go deep-sea fishing. Dramamine never prevented seasickness for him, but Meclizine worked well. Go figure.
A predator fish that gets quite large. I have them on the brain as I'm going to fish muskie in the northwoods next week. Two in one day would be historic. I digress. but found the thought funny at the time.
