Hi guys, I just started taking Famciclovir (500 mg) today and the manufacturer is Camber Pharmace. Is this one still effective? I couldn't get my hands on Northstar although I asked the pharmacy to request it.
I've been on valacyclovir for years now and get blood work regularly and all the results come back normal.
I personally did not have luck with Camber. Northstar has worked best for me. Also your dose seems way too low.
3000 mg seems so high. I guess I have nothing to lose besides my kidneys. That would be for a month? So would you recommend 2 at a time 3x/day. How does everyone spread that out. I notice they give me some insomnia at 1000 I can only imagine 3000. I also take 2000 mg of Lysine. I notice my constant unsteadiness is worse as is the tinnitus. Only been on 1000 mg for 3 days.
There is no such thing as “max dose” of antivirals. I’ve taken 3000mg a day of fam, and I’m currently taking 3000mg of valacyclovir daily.
You’re info here is false. Valacyclivor and famciclovir are two different medications. Thus prescribed by MDs at different dosages. 3000mg fam and 3000mg val are not the same thing.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but does Famvir not cross the blood brain barrier at much lower doses as opposed to Acyclovir and Valcyclovir? I think it was notated in Dr. Gacek's study.
Hi Daniel, I think you are misunderstanding my point, I realize they are different medications as I have taken both. There is not a set max dose of anti virals for Menieres, even with Dr. Gacek protocol many people who found relief, did so way beyond his dosage outlines, I and many others are on 3000 mg of antivirals permanently, no taper. I personally was just taking fam from northstar at 3000mg a day with great success. There’s no text book for antivirals and Menieres. We only have Dr. Gaceks small report and our experiences from this website.
