I was diagnosed with Menieres three years ago. My life has been turned upside down. Violent bouts of vertigo vomiting and lying on the floor for hours. I’ve tried low salt diets but the vertigo still lingers like a bad fog. I’ve tried the typical treatments recommend by so called ENT specialists: oral steroids and injections into the inner ear. SERC, CBD oil and upper cervical chiropractic. Nothing really helps. I’ve found some relief from taking gravol and Mucinex. The hearing in my left ear is almost gone so I wear a hearing aid. On good days it’s ok but due to fluctuations in hearing and low level hearing loss it’s difficult to find the right level. I can no longer teach in a classroom. From my own research I believe that my Menieres is viral. The inner ear is a closed system and is the perfect place for the virus to hide and wreak havoc. I’m going to try the JOH program. I’m at my wits end especially with physicians who make guesses but are prepared to engage in medieval surgery.
Welcome....there's a lot of good info on this forum about antiviral also. Starting to look into it myself, started L lysine and oregano oil and it's doing something just not sure what yet. Menieres is a life changer for sure. Prayers
Read Buchholz "Heal Your Headache". Your progression sounds like mine. My left ear is gone. I would lay on my office floor for hours at a time with vertigo events which eventually became weekly or every other week at best. The ups and downs were horrible. As I was being prepped for a laby, my Dr. had a VNG test performed which changed the game plan. After he discovered normal vestibular response, we started treating for MAV. I have been vertigo free for going on 6 months. I never beleived I had MAV cus I never really had any serious headaches. Funny thing about MAV is the Migrainne does not manifest as pain. It manifests as vertigo in the vestibular nerve. The MAV treatment and diet is a no brainer. No surgery involved. At least rule it out. I'm also on 25 mg of Topiramate daily. I found more than 25mg causes me side affects like dizzyness. (go figure). Once I fine tuned my dosage, I have avoided dizziness unless I get stupid and go off my diet in a major way. Hang in there and try all the easy stuff first.
