I'm struggling with M.D. it popped up a few years ago then more frequent. Now it doesn't go away some days are worse than others. I've tried 3 ENTs and a neurologist and haven't found anybody worthwhile. I'm in Houston. Anybody here have a good Dr. reference ? I'm missing work it is severe. Thanks in advance-Steve
Hi Steven. If you don't get a recommendation for someone in Houston, Dr. Hahn at Dallas Ear Institute (www.dallasear.com) is an incredible neurotologist. He has been a trusted partner for me for the last ten years of my 21 years with MD.
Google translate: Hello, I am very sorry that you have this disease, but the first of all that you know that you are not alone, the second that the worst moments are always now; but with time things usually improve and one learns to live with it. It is difficult and requires patience and tranquility, but it can be done. I cannot recommend doctors because I am European, but in this website in the database that you will see at the top you will find a lot of information about alternative therapies that have helped many to recover or at least alleviate symptoms. I recommend that you read the antiviral, monolaurin and, perhaps most importantly, the JOH regimen. I also recommend that if you have not already done so, take betahistine + diuretics and consume no more than 1.5g of sodium (salt) per day. Neither alcohol, caffeine, theine, tobacco or refined sugar. Drink water or natural juice only when you are thirsty and in small drinks. And relaxing also helps although it is very difficult, you have to find what works for you, I tried anxiolytics, psychologist, mindfullness, infusions, etc.
Hey Steve. I’m glad your here I understand how you feel. There is a lot of helpful information on the site that can steer you in the right direction. Plenty of people on this website have found relief. Unfortunately I do not know anyone in Houston maybe another member does.
You may want to look for neurotologist or otolaryngologist as specialists. I live up in DFW and the Dallas Ear Institute is great, but it would make for a long drive if vertigo flare ups are bad right now. Hope you’re able to find some help. —Kevin
I also go to Dr Vrabec. He isnt convinced that Menieres is helped by antivirals but is fine prescribing them as an option. I also recommend Dr Jing Shen if you are only looking for a ENT
