I don’t even feel too old mentally, but meniere’s can take a toll on your body sometimes! You’re not even old, redwing

I know I am not old...but I have a 90 year old MIL who has dementia and life is difficult for her. My dad is 95 and he has his faculties but his physical body is breaking down. None of this is for "sissy's" They are both very brave as they try to live their best life.

You’re absolutely right. Just as it seems you’re grateful to have your older family members, I’m sure they are grateful for you, even as you clearly don’t expect gratitude. Hat’s off to you, redwing.

So the next time you assert something in your professional life that prompts somewhat questionable, however nonetheless important characters to label you a moron & an embarrassment to all humanity, counter-volley their return with only a simple & modest smile.

Then, when you're proven correct, by the very people who previously mob piled you, be sure to repeat said & simple volley.

This way you'll go down in history as humble, & simultaneously earn the respect & boil the blood of your detractors in the process.

    Win win.

That grocery stores have fresh soup every day in winter. I never realized this till recently. I'm way too impatient to make soup. It's like having mom around again. Albertsons/Vons has good meaty chili. Not quite hot enough for me. So I bring it home and squeeze in my favorite hot sauce. "Aardvark". Modern life is pretty great. (I don't know tho, did grocery stores have fresh made soup way back when?)

I love my Crock-Pot especially for soup and chili. I really only use it this time of year.

That you can think someone likes you but they don't like you at all. Do I do it too? Act like I like someone but really don't? The thought makes me paranoid. I wish I had a pair of glasses that would show those that dislike me in red. Maybe not a good idea. If I walked into my favorite bar with those glasses on and half the people turned red, that'd be soul-crushing. Gosh, what if my favorite bartender actually hates me.
