Hi Everyone, this is my first post and I am recently diagnosed with Meniere's. I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and it's been very helpful to read everyone's experiences. While we are in Covid lots of my work has switched to Zoom online calls/meetings. In the last 48 hours I have had two Zoom sessions, and gotten motion-sickness dizzy after both. I also vomited after today's session. Is anyone else having a similar experience? Glad to be here! Koki2
If you have recently had a vertigo attack, television screens, computer, mobile phones, etc. They can be annoying and dizzy if you look at them. At least that's what happened to me after my attack, the television and my computer made me dizzy, not always but at times when I had to turn off. During the COVID I also made video calls with friends on Skype and WhatsApp and I did not get dizzy and at that time it had only been a month since my attack of vertigo and I still had quite a few sequels. Right now I don't get dizzy from using the computer or watching television and in my case I play video games in the first person with a lot of movement and fast action on the screen.
I’m, sorry, but I think you are lying when you say, “glad to be here.” Lol In all seriousness, yeah, just about anything can trigger a vertigo attack, so Zoom doesn’t sound that far out of bounds.
Hey Koki2, If using headphones, is your audio volume spread equally to both left & right channels? My symptoms—including spacial symptoms such as disequalcium & mal de debarquement—reliably spike if either a) I'm in a situation in which only the left or right channel emits sound, or b) volume is unequally distributed to either the left or right channel.
