Dr. thinks I have hydrops, no definitive answer yet. Wondered if anyone has this.... I will get pressure building in my left ear for several hours throughout the day. It will continue to build and then suddenly the pressure will release and my ear will ring in a tone for 30 min to an hour and then it subsides. Then the pressure will start building again almost immediately. The process will repeat ad nauseum. Just today it has happened 3 times already. This will go on for a few days and then it seems like it stops for a week or 2 before starting all over again. Does anyone have this? It is awful! I don't know how I can really live with something like this long term. I have an appointment with Dr. Gacek in Mobile next week. I moved my appointment up a week just to try to end this nightmare.
Wow, that's a fast build-up! When my MM is active, pressure will build over a couple of days, and then I will have a vertigo attack, and when that is all over, the pressure is gone. I think of it as when the pressure builds too much, the liquid bursts out and goes to places its not supposed to be, causing vertigo, and as it slowly moves out of the forbidden spots, I get back to normal and get to start over again
I havent ever had any vertigo at all. Makes me wonder if hydrops is really what is going on with me because I've never read about anyone having these sudden pressure build ups.
I think hydrops is just a word meaning liquid pressure build up in your ear. I think it is just a description of what you have, not really a diagnosis of anything.
I have build up constantly too. I trie Gentamicin injections Jul/Aug which seemed to work but for last 5 weeks menieres is back with a vengeance. I have constant build ups & have become a recluse because of this horrible horrible disease. Back to my consultant next week to try a new procedure
