I have been seeing a functional medicine provider who has suggested going gluten and dairy free. I’m one month in to this new diet and had a bad bout of vertigo this morning. I’m wondering if anyone has seen improvements with going to a gluten free and dairy free diet and if so how long it took to notice the improvements? Thanks
I started a gluten-free diet at the end of June and I have improved, but I cannot say if it was due to the diet, the vitamins I take or simply the natural remission of the disease. In any case, I can tell you that a gluten-free diet to work has to be strict and careful, you cannot take even a gram of something that contains gluten or you will return to the starting box. That said, it takes 2 months to see the first improvements from a gluten-free diet and up to 6 months for the gut to fully heal from gluten damage. Don't expect a quick improvement, I've been there for four months and I'm looking forward to 6 months to see what happens.
I only received benefit in weight reduction and gut health; not ear health. Still worth it for those two benefits alone.
Nutrition is a real source in healing the body & keeping the body balanced. I have increased my protein and water intake, lowered my sodium, and made sure I knew where my nutrition was coming from such as 100% free of dyes, chemicals, additives and etc. I am doing a whole lot better now. Not saying I have a day or so with a problem but more nots than with. I am getting out of bed with energy even.
