I suffer from a severely runny nose quite often, especially when it is windy, cold or both. I sometimes take a Zyrtec (Cetirizine) liquid at night and Allegra (fexoffenadrine) in the morning before golf but it doesn't work very well. I was thinking of trying a nasal steroid like Nasacort Allergy but I am a bit leery due to our shared MD issues. This constant runny nose is a PIA and I have to try something. Anyone here tried the steroid sprays like Nasacort?
Try Allegra D it really works well. You have to ask for it because it is kept locked up behind the counter. Much better than plain Allegra.
Well, as I understand it and please correct me if I am wrong, the D stands for decongestant and decongestants have a "rebound" affect - i.e. if you take them on a regular basis, they make things worse. This is just my understanding from Googling.
Yes the d stands for decongestant. I take it on an as need basis... when my head feels like it might explode and my drippy nose needs to be stopped. I would not know about the rebound affect because I don't use it more than a 48 hour period. I just know it works well for me.
