    CKDK,
I doubt the steroid injections which are local made your body feel uncomfortable but everyone is different. The more shots you get the better you will feel because the inflammation in the ear is very minimal. It's hard for me to tell you how long does the effect last. Every time it's different. I do too go on oral steroids if I'm having a really bad attack. They really work for me and my body feels great LOL......... But one can't be on those drugs for ever.

I have an odd case of meniere's compared to what most people report on this forum. My symptoms are pretty constant but quite rare that I've had a full attack. (Knock on wood.) That said, I wasn't able to discern any hearing change via testing after the injection. I didn't feel better either in terms of other not as easy to define symptoms like dizziness.

I have had cochlear menieres in one ear - hearing loss, tinnitus and fullness, since Christmas. I had the steroid injection into my ear drum last week - I'm shocked at how painful it was, I can't see anyone else say that it is painful. I have a high pain threshold normally. I'm due a second one tomorrow and dreading it. Interested to read that some say the "magic' numbing cream made it more uncomfortable.

Quieted my tinnitus a lot for about 4 days then stopped working. Not worth it for me.

Hi, why do you advise to not have the anaesthetic before hand please?
