Interesting, but can't say I agree with some of it, for me anyway. Nuts, almond flour ect are a big no no if you think your Meniere's has a viral cause/trigger.

Because the herpes virus uses arginine to reproduce, you have to have a diet where the amount of lysine is greater than that of arginine to fight against its reproduction. Those foods are rich in arginine.

If you take a lysine supplement you can eat anything with arginine as the amount of lysine in your diet will continue to be much higher.

    Thank you, Ivan.
In this forum I read the very first time about Herpes viruses and Menière's Disease.
Is the Connection a theory or is it proven?
I think now I should get tested.
It seems to me that my episodes of bad vertigo had to do with histamine.

Personally, I don't count on the Lysine supplement to do the job. I now avoid most foods with a high arginine/lysine ratio like nut and nut products.

    You can Google it

Thank you for your advice, Donamo. I have googled a bit in German; in a pharmacist review it is said there is no evidence a diet avoiding arginin has an effect on Herpes. (The four studies being insufficient.)
I have never had any Herpes outbreaks or symptoms, but I have Morbus Meniere. Interesting is, I cannot eat many of the Lysin food, due to food intolerances.
    I'll ask my doctor.
Thanks a lot for the advices.
    Greetings from Bremen, Lilja

However, lysine has other benefits that could be the ones that are producing improvements in Menieres and people are attributing it to the viral cause.
