I have a few questions below if you (or anyone who's undergone similar treatment) can answer! I'm thinking of pursuing TMJD treatment next (looking at Dr. Sid Solomon in LA), but I would love to know if there are certain markers of Meniere's symptoms that could rule out TMJD being the cause of the symptoms. The TMJD symptoms I most notice are: Two dentists have commented that my bite is off my jaw clicks on my right side (main side of aural symptoms) when I open wide I do have occasional pressure on the sides of my head above my ears and over my ears. My ear issues (in order of severity): Aural fullness. This is my biggest complaint. Note however the behavior: One ear (usually my right) will generally be full at a time before it switches to the other, and I will have phases of the day where the ears are clear (see this graphic for a visual of my symptoms). Does this line-up with aural fullness caused by TMJD? Tinnitus. High 'white noise' somatic tinnitus between both ears, as well as some unilateral pure-tones. Occasional SSNHL and Diplacusis. So far these have only affected my right ear. My diplacusis has always been low-frequency. My SSNHL has always been high-frequency. Light PPPD. Note that I have never had vertigo. I am diagnosed Cochlear Hydrops because of this. Also note: I did seem to respond well to antivirals in the past, but my symptoms returned after a few months supposedly due to being on too low of a dose. I think I will do a consultation, but from this, is it conceivable that my issues are the result of TMJD? Has anyone verified if TMJD can indeed cause SSNHL that responds to prednisone steroid? And lastly, can TMJD cause unilateral aural fullness (that may switch sides/ears throughout the day and take breaks)?
