Today is post-op day 3: came home from hospital yesterday. Dizziness with movement but able to walk around in the house using a walker for safety. Pain is mostly from swelling in side of face and ear. Pressure more than anything else. No vomiting. Minimal nausea. Ear drainage minimal. Tinnitus is pretty loud for now but expect may decrease when swelling subsided. Balance the beast to conquer now. Stoked it is behind me. Appetite sluggish but that’s normal for me after anesthesia. Walking and resting. All is good for now.

Sounds like you are doing great! Walking is so important to your recovery so keep it up. Walk and rest and you will be as good as you hoped to be. God bless.

Today is Sunday and this is post-op day five. Side of face and head still swollen around ear but decreasing. Pressure continues with the swelling but tolerable. Tylenol for pressure discomfort during the day with Meclizine to help with dizziness. Feeling good all things considered. Walking around in house with and without walker to get balance in check. Anesthesia always kicks my butt so fatigue is slowing me down a bit. Drinking and eating what I want. Still sore when chewing on right side but better as swelling decreases. No more diuretic and potassium. One day at a time. Hearing is no different to me than before surgery. Happy I made the decision to get my life back and moving in the right direction. Prayers for Luis with his upcoming surgery. Thanks for the encouragement. You guys and gals are keepers. Jim

Hey everyone. One week post-op appointment with surgeon was yesterday. Riding in the car for almost two hours one-way was rough. Surgeon said everything looks great. Still have swelling above and in front of ear. Sinus drainage and pressure is kicking today. Walking in house frequently. Dizziness is rough but I know it will be better. Very happy with progress so far and know that rough days are temporary. Hope you are well Luis.

Hi Jim! I came out of hospital yesterday. I was in the hospital for 3 days. I still have dizziness and walk its very difficult. I walk alone at home but it's not easy. I confess that it is a great physical and psychological exhaustion this situation

To both you and Jim keep up the good fight because it really does get better. And as tired as you are it is very important to walk as much as you can. Rest in between the walks. When you walk you can use walking sticks to help with your balance. Also it’s important to look straight ahead as I remember I would have the tendency to look down at my footing. Look out over the horizon once in awhile. Again one step at a time then rest and then do it over again. Is it exhausting? You bet it is but truly within 2 to 3 weeks it will be behind you. Keep going forward. God bless both of you.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I notice the same...looking down when walking. Remind myself frequently to stand upright and look straight ahead. I will finish this race and am encouraged to have such nice folks here to guide me along the way. Hang in there Luis and know this is temporary.

Luis...reading, computer, and TV all make me dizzy. If I keep head stationary on a pillow, then the dizziness subsides. None while lying down to rest. Typing this is slightly difficult but trying to train my brain.

Yes Luis...it feels like eternity but my surgeon said something that make sense to me. He said not to measure progress by days. He said it is more likely noticeable by weeks than days. I am 10 days in today and the dizziness is totally disruptive most of the time; however, I am walking better in the house and feel more stable than I did 9 days ago. You and I can enjoy the baby steps knowing the finish line is reachable. Hang in there my friend.
