Hi, I hope somebody can help. I'm trying to find out what's wrong with me. The gp and hospital haven't been much help. I have trigeminal neuralgia, migraine, and arthritis in my neck and spine. Everything seems to be attributed to that or an ear infection. Sometimes blamed on being female too. I have intermittent severe pain in my ears. Different to trigeminal neuralgia or migraine. Mostly one ear is affected but occasionally the other ear strikes. My ear hurts to touch but the pain radiates to cause intense level 9/10 pain that doesnt throb just sits deep within my ear and drones on like some kind of demented banshee. Ive recently come through another bout and am still experiencing pain and vertigo. My vertigo was so bad yesterday and nausea too. The pain I've just been through was horrific. I can touch the pain inside my ear and if I lie on that side it's like being stabbed with a red hot poker. I'm not exaggerating, I don't know how much more I can take. I was once in intensive care and lost 2 and half litres of blood but that was a summers day walk in the park in comparison. I live in fear afraid to move my head in case I inadvertently wake the beast. Am I in the right place? Anybody have these symptoms? I find very little info about ear stuff out there. Thank you so much for any help even if it's a no you're here n the wrong place
You have something major going on, but I don't think it's Meniere's! I'm so sorry for what you're going through, and I hope you can find a specialist who can help you.
Except for the intense pain, you are describing my first 8-10 months with Meniere. My pain was more of a 5/10. It also bothered me to open or close doors and windows quickly or when it was a windy storm. In my case, I just got better over time trying things on this forum (diet, antivirals, lysine, vitamin D). In any case, and first of all, have you done an MRI and a cervical X-ray?
I also have neck and back pain problem and i did get ear pain, was my menier ear then both then it subsided on its own, sometime it return but its not as bad as before. Doctor and ENT are stubborn telling me its impossible and that neck problem are unrelated to meniere...(am thinking the very opposite)
Wow, I am SO sorry you are going through this! I have ear pain from time to time, but never to such a degree! Wishing you all the luck in the world!
