Does anyone else have the issue of your ears popping almost every time you swallow? At least that's what it feels and sounds like. I'm not sure if this is something that is normal for people with MM, or if it may mean something else. I live at sea level so elevation is not a problem. Thanks
I have had it for years. It is called ETD (eustachian tube dysfunction). At times it was almost as annoying as MM. I had the ENT place a tube in my right ear and it helped.
I have had it since I was 12, when I had my tonsils out. Been so long I am used to it and would probably think something was wrong if it stopped. I know my tinnitus is not as bad in my affected hear when I can hear the pops more clearly.
Thanks for the responses. That's interesting Mac. I have never asked the Doctor about that and he's never mentioned it. My tinittus changes sounds when I yawn also. Did that happen with you also. Can the Doctor see this or know for sure this is what is wrong?
zotgen, I think that might be what I'm hearing. And since I'm bilateral, its in both ears. Have you addressed this with your Doctor? Is it normal for people with MM? Thanks for the response.
Snuka, I've mentioned so many things to my doctor(s) that I don't even recall if this was one of them. And to be honest, it's been happening for so long I can't remember if it coincided with the onset of my MM.
Hi all, I've been here before, was diagnosed with atypical MD IN 2019. I was MD free for 3 years and it came back again last week. I used JOH/ valtrex initially 3 years ago and it worked. I have been dizzy 24/7 and my tinnitus has been off the charts lately. This morning I woke up and my ears are really clogged, I guess I feel fullness? Not even sure what ear fullness really means ...can anyone explain? Here are my other symptoms related to my ears: -I keep moving my jaw to try and pop my ears..no luck, they just click -I still hear ringing ( tinnitus) but now my ears feel clogged like they need to pop like after a flight but I can't pop them -My ears even hurt -Hearing is definitely not good so assuming MD is attacking my inner ears -also, Typing mistakes is definitely a problem, constantly have to correct what I'm typing. Any feedback would be appreciated as I never had a problem with my ears like this even when MD was at its worse in 2019. JOH said it gets worse before it gets better so I am back on his regimen plus valtex,,,hoping this is what he says happens , my only fear is I never had this ear issue. thanks everyone
