Now what I notice is that when I fix an image and turn my head I can't keep my eyes fixed on the image, especially the eye on the side where I was operated on.

Started yesterday, 4 weeks after the surgery, optokinetic physiotherapy. Although I do my normal daily routine (I am already working but I work from home) I still have imbalance when I walk and have difficulty driving

Hey Luis. Thought I would drop in and say hello. It sounds like your progress is right on schedule. I’m not driving yet. I feel like I could but had a few setbacks and do not want to rush safety. Keeping eyes fixed when moving toward effected side is common. It is part of my therapy too and it takes time. I was making great progress until I started having issues with my already replaced hip. Then drainage in my ear indicated infection. Saw local ENT doctor today and started on antibiotic drops. He is very concerned since it is an inner ear infection on my surgical side. Watching closely and hoping I go not end up in the hospital. Had CT Scan today of hip and really do not want to have it replaced again. Surely do not need infection in that hip. Enough about me. Sounds like you are doing great. Hang in there buddy and keep pushing the therapy. My balance is doing great so far, just can’t get the rest of my old body to keep up.

I finished the optokinetic physiotherapy on Friday. Went well. I feel a clear improvement in the last 3 days. I do everything I did before the surgery but I still feel discomfort when I walk and when I drive. It's been 5 weeks after the surgery today and I feel like I'm at 80%. I'm hoping that in the next few weeks I will be 100%! I've been working from home but wanted to start going to the office next week. I am a very active person and I have been training at home and I also hope to go to the gym soon.I start to see light at the end of the tunnel... :)

You’re right. I am keeping a log of my recovery. I’m just reserved.
I will post soon, but will start a new thread, so I don’t hijack your experience.

About a month and a half after the surgery I went back to the office this week. I only went for 1 day and I drive to the office (it's about 25 km).It wasn't very pleasant to drive but it was bearable. I worked about 8 hours. Next week I plan to go to the office more days. The improvements are now visible not on a daily basis but on a weekly basis. I'd say I'm at 80% at this stage. Next week I intend to go to the gym (I already do weight exercises at home)

Hello! I finally had a week close to a normal life. This week I lived a normal life: I went to the office and drive, I went to the gym, I went out to lunch and dinner.I'm still not 100%. I would say that my balance is at 80/85%. What I feel the most is when I turn my head to the side where the surgery was performed, the vision drags... for example, if I fix a stitch and move my head to the side where I had the surgery, I can't fix the stitch at 100%.But I have been feeling better week after week so I deduce that it will be a matter of time until I reach 100%. I still have salt restrictions on medical advice but honestly it doesn't even bother me anymore

    Hi Terratag,

Im doing well... but I confess that my balance is not the same as before the surgery. For example when riding in a car, I feel the road shaking much more. It may improved in the next few months but we will have to wait. I've also had a day or two of being a little "fog" but I just lay down and I recover

You are barely 60 days post-op Luis. It sounds from what I have read from others like a year from now you will be much closer to normal.

How are your other symptoms - dizziness, nausea etc?
