    Hello All!
Just wanted to celebrate (sort of) the fact that today is the first day without a hit of vertigo in about four weeks. Yippeee!!! Sometimes as many as three episodes per day. Of course the day isn´t over yet it´s only 9:30pm. Felt a bit wonky from time to time but stayed upright from 8:00am to now. I´ve learned to celebrate the little victories. I encourage you too to celebrate the small victories and keep a journal of these times to reflect on. Wishing you the best!

You need to try the JOH regime. I have been on the regime for over 5 months and have not had any episodes.

I was thinking as I wrote the initial post last night, ¨Don´t jinx it! Don´t jinx it!¨ Well, I did. After posting I went to bed, read for about 20 minutes, and about 20 minutes after lights out, while enjoying that twilight feeling of drifting off to blissful sleep, I felt that little ¨snap¨ and the ¨Drift¨ turned into a ¨Free Fall¨ spin with nausea and sweats. It lasted about 30 minutes. I think vertigo with the lights off is more disorienting than with lights on.

I was coming to say that's awesome. But then I saw your last post. I hate when that happens. Sorry to hear that!

Hey All! Good news!!! I have been over a week WITHOUT vertigo! It coincides with going to the dentist and having a abcess (I know that´s spelled wrong) tooth taken care of. Never in a million years would I ever have connected the two. The infected tooth needs a root canal and so the first step was to take care of the abcess and also drill out the dying tooth. This was all cleaned up last Monday (August 29?).

The root canal was a result of grinding my teeth in my sleep, for years, but in the last year it kicked into ¨overdrive¨ to the point I created a loose tooth and route of infection. My gum swelled to where it looked like a marble was stuck under it. It was a long time in the making but the increasing pain goes back to before June intermittently and became more intense and chronic as the weeks past. Leading up to constant pain, three plus weeks of daily vertigo hits, and the last straw was the gum swelling abcess appearing over the weekend. I was putting off the inevitable and finally called the dentist on Saturday AM. Got a call back within 20 minutes to be in the chair on Monday 8:30am sharp! That was about 10 days ago.

I still get a full foggy head and imbalance before storms since a week and a half ago but no vertigo since the infection was taken care of. We finish the root canal in two weeks. Now wearing a mouth guard at night which has helped with the teeth grinding. Stress, pain, infections, foods, chronic ailments, it´s amazing how all of this is all interconnected and how not taking care of the whole can affect so many different parts!

As a side note; working hard to better manage my diabetes and this too has made some positive impact on Meniereś symptoms. Again, as doctors would say, its all anecdotal (because someone with a PhD or some lab rat working on their Doctoral Theses hasn´t done the clinical research to support it) but those of us with the afflictions don´t need degrees to know what works, what doesn´t, and how we feel as a result.

    Hope you are well!
