Hi Guys, I've recently gone to see an Osteopath to see if it can help with my MD symptoms, and I have to say that I am amazed at the results I have so far. My MD symptoms have been off the charts for the last 2 years and have tried many things to reduce them without success until now. I'm only 2 sessions in and I already feel much better. I highly recommend you giving it a shot! Thanks!
Some Context: I was diagnosed with MD about 5 years. The first 6 months were by far the hardest. I was getting random attacks with all the glorious symptoms that come with it. I did not understand MD, nor did I want to accept I had it because I was always a "healthy" person, despite having various specialist confirm it (I saw about 4 ENTs). Eventually I accepted my new reality and cut out many of the common triggers of MD (coffee being the biggest one for me). My doctor gave me some prednisone to help with my ear inflammation because it was too much to handle. After doing a short cycle of prednisone, the inflammation was reduced and within 6 months all my symptoms went away. I even went back to drinking a lot of coffee with no sign of MD around. I was 100% symptom free for 2 years......and then boom.....MD came back out of nowhere. I cut out coffee again and completely eliminated alcohol (was not a big drinker to begin with) and I managed to get the vertigo under control, but still had insane amount of inflammation, hearing loss, sound sensitivity, tinnitus, brain fog, and slightly unbalanced. For the last year and a half, I saw 3 different ENTs, did a MRI, tried taking diuretics, tried betahistine, and even tried prednisone with no success. Given that none of those worked, I started looking for alternatives. I tried going to a chiropractor and doing acupuncture, but didn't see no change what so ever. I even tried JOH regimen for a couple of months but didn't see any improvement. Osteopathy: That's when I turned to Osteopathy. Osteopathy is essentially an alternative medicine that emphasizes on the physical manipulation of the body's muscles and bones to remove "blockages" for the body to self heal. To be honest, I went in thinking it wasn't going to do anything, but I was desperate. After the first session, I noticed that my affected ear was not sensitive to sound anymore, which left me shocked. After my second session, my ear felt slightly better. I still have the inflammation and tinnitus, but it feels slightly different in a good way. I'm only 2 sessions so far and I feel better. I plan to do 5 sessions in total (what the practitioner recommended). I'll keep you posted on the results if you like. The reality is that everyone will react differently to treatments because everyone is unique. I seem to be responding more to Osteopathy compared to everything else I tried, so I will pursue it in hopes that I will eliminate my symptoms like last time.
