Hello, I’m seeking a Regimin for my 18 year old. I have a few questions if someone could be so kind .. She had the Chicken pox vaccine so never had the virus Never had a sore ( Herpes of any kind) 1) Is there any reason to embark on Anti herpe medication ? We are early in the process , so far she’s had two horrific episodes of vertigo but it’s been 7 days since the second episode with no more. 2) Do you suggest We wait to begin the JOH protocol so that we have an understanding Of weather it’s working I’d gather it’s hard to know the effectiveness if we don’t know what we are controlling Right? I’m not sure what is a normal anticipation ….. Hearing loss low frequency 15 months ago ( diagnosed cochlear hydrops) Followed by 2 episodes of spinning vertigo / vomiting 15 months later ( last week) No fullness / ringing or pressure during those two episodes last 7 days, no events. ( Only change was the elimination of salt) 3) is this a typical presentation? 4 What are clusters? Were those two episodes considered a cluster ? 5 Should we expect a few quiet months ? Or more to come this week, continuing the cluster? Thank you, very much for your help I am trying my best to arm myself with as much knowledge so that I can ease the burden on my 18 year old.
Angel555, you ask good questions. I began my symptoms of Meniere's Disease when I was about your daughter's age. I am now 70 years old, have been deaf in one ear for years, and about 5 years ago the disease began attacking my other ear. Although I have been on the JOH regimen for about a year, I have no idea if it has helped. I continue to lose hearing. However, I don't have the vertigo. All that being said, I wish I could have tried some sort of regimen when I was younger. Perhaps I could have saved one ear. Meniere's Disease runs in my family, and I currently have have two younger sisters who also have it; so that's why I wonder about the effectiveness of antivirals in my case. But when you're desperate, you try everything. I pray that your daughter can find something that will help her.
Hi Always sad to hear about someone’s problems. I have had problems for over 3 months and even though it’s been over a month since my last attack, I don’t feel out of the woods/safe/cured. My internist and my self think I have Menieres. I have yet to get into an appointment to see ENT but doubt they can help. I had extreme vertigo episodes lasting 12 hours onset by slight dizziness, tingling down my face and then came the vomiting and sensitivity to smell, light, noise, stuffy ear with pressure, tinnitus (which I already had), brain fog and severe headaches that moved around. It started to become a regular pattern. And, would happen every other day and if lucky every three days. I started the JOH regimen as soon as I could order it from Vitacost. Also, started to lower sodium intake. I never had the patience to figure out what foods effected me. My symptoms started to be less severe, just dizzy with brain fog. The good news when my doctor prescribed Ondansetron to stop vomiting (I was losing too much weight). It was like a miracle! I was eating and felt like vomiting, so I took the pill. The urge to vomit went away! I have had a a few more experiences like that, but now it has stopped! I don’t know if it’s the regime or what, but I’m gradually feeling better. I’m still sensitive to dizziness but no attacks. So, I am not giving up on JOH regimen. I take the L lysine (with Ginkgo Bilobia, and zinc once a day) 20 minutes before eating. I read that Ginkgo Bilobia and zinc should be taken on an empty stomach. I recommend you look that up and make that adjustment. I hope this helps. Let me know if I can help. God bless!
Hi Patricia, Thank you for taking time to reply to me. I’m sorry you are dealing with this and have hearing loss in both ears… While you’ve lost the hearing, it’s good news that the vertigo has subsided. I hope that things will improve for you! Hi Lynne, I’m just learning about the medications for nausea and hopefully it will also help my child. I’m sorry that this disease has found you …. Have you also lost hearing? This unknown is so scary … Im praying for all of us!
Actually, my hearing isn’t lost, possibly just diminished. Btw, I recommend lookining into spices, less stress and enough sleep.
