I am unable to find the PDF you stated that you attached. Is there a possibility of me receiving this ? thanks Roxy
I just went to my first (I say first because I might go back) visit to a chiropractor here in Japan that does upper cervical spine alignments. There are somewhat rare here…. I have always been very sceptical of chiropractic services. I’m also hesitant to believe anyone who says they “cured” their MD……with that said I do believe it can be done……in my experience I don’t think an ENT can help aside from ruling out other diseases or potential causes. now after I have a big vertigo attack the next day or two I am 100% symptom free. Then slowly but surely my PPPD comes back and other foggy head issues…. Due to that I feel that I have some problem that can be fixed but it’s out of the area an ENT specialist knows how to deal with…. (medicine doesn’t work and I feel positive results reported in the research is largely just the natural come and go of symptoms) anyway long story shot I went to the chiropractor….told him my story and said I’ve tried everything…..even going to the dentist and having an mri on my jaw and getting a splint made….. he of course told me he can treat my problem. Now unlike the ENT he did give an explanation of what is happening with MD. He said what what others already know that the problem is the lymphatic fluid not flowing properly and getting trapped in the ears due to improper neck position. when you’re in our position you’ll try anything and you want to believe anyone when they say this or that will help. The explanation of the cause does sound good but I don’t know if that’s technically possible. Anyway I need to go get a neck xray and have him confirm and treat. He said it would take about 10 sessions….. To get to the point……he did about 10 minutes of adjusting to my neck and to give credit where credit is due I felt significant improvement in my symptoms. Before going to my appointment I was having a strong PPPD day…..maybe 7 out of 10…… 10 being I am having a full on vertigo attack and can’t move…. After his adjustments I was probably at a 4 out of 10. so it’s enough for me to pay for the xray and treatment out of pocket and see. I will like to show the xray to another expert and get a second opinion….. I’ll keep everyone updated but wanted to share
I have gone to see a chiropractor in hopes that it would remedy my MD symptoms. I did a total of 4 sessions with no improvement whatsoever. I had more success with Osteopathy!
I really think it all depends on what the root cause of your symptoms are…..and your specific condition. I think Ménière’s is probably the result of multiple problems…. Maybe a virus, maybe structural issues, maybe stress??? I think the possible results people get from the chiropractor is maybe neck relaxation??? That in turn probably helps with tension. That’s always a good thing For the people who say they have cured there condition…..I’m always interested in hearing from them in the future and getting updates….. I was given a steroid at one ENT appointment…..I never took it and a week later my ears felt pretty good. If I had taken the steroids I would have assumed they helped….sometimes you just get better without doing anything….
All I started seeing an upper cervical Chiro here in Sarasota - a year ago November 2022. His name is Drew Hall if anyone wants a review. Unfortunately so far I am the only one who has not gotten my Atlas adjustments to help at all. Only one time for around 15 minutes did my ear pop open. It used to be when I got up around 20k on the plane it would open on the left and I could breathe but upon landing it would close and the pressure would get worse. I have seen 2 ENT's (one Michigan ear institute, one in Tampa) I have had MRI's, CT Scans, Pressure tests etc. Nothing showed up. No answer as to something to resolve it. If I lay down on my right (bad is on the left) I can get my nose to at least be able to breath. This started in July of 20 after a flight (I was already there a week) I heard a loud explosion in left ear and fell to the ground in horrible pain. Over the next 1.5 years a humming, ringing, and pressure in the left ear got worse. I want to try the Ozone Ear Insulffation but cannot find anyone Tampa, Sarasota etc to do it and do not feel comfortable doing it myself. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I have to put an ear plug in left ear in restaurants or noisy places as sounds are amplified and voices muffled and no understandable.
Very interesting as we seem to have similar symptoms in terms of sound sensitivity. I was diagnosed with Meniere's about 5 years ago when it came out of no where. I too have tried to see a chiropractor and osteopath with no success. I have managed to get the vertigo under control (last episode was Nov 2021) through little lifestyle changes (i.e. no caffeine, no alcohol, etc..). However, I still suffer from inner ear inflammation and tinnitus. My hearing is also impaired, but loud sounds tend to make me feel uncomfortable. I usually stick a piece of cotton in my ear to help with the sound sensitivity. But lately I've been kinda forcing myself to stay without the cotton to adapt to the sensitivity so to speak. I've noticed that the amount of sugar I consume has an impact on the tinnitus so I've started to play around with my diet to see if it helps. I'll keep you posted on my progress! You're not in this alone!
I am fortunate as I do not have the vertigo. Someone on the blog mentioned they got results from Ozone ear insulffation (sp?) but I do not want to do myself and trouble finding an ENT to do this for me
Has anyone thought of the possibility of cervical myelopathy as the cause of their Meniere's? Many of the symptoms fit...
Hi, sorry if I resume this old thread, I was wondering, if one has problems with cervical vertebrae, shouldn't an x-ray be enough to spot it? Thanks!
