I have diagnosed meniers. Hearing loss in left ear, tinnitus and a constant feeling of unsteadiness when walking around. It is okay when sitting or lying down. Has anyone found vestibular therapy helped with the unsteadiness? I don't get drop attacks, at present. I'm a 32F. Any thoughts welcome!
I think vestibular therapy is worth trying. We are each different in how our bodies respond to a given treatment so what didn't help one person may help another. I'm a fan of trying non-medicinal therapies. Though the diet, diuretic, & sometimes prednisone, approach to Meniere's has been pretty helpful for me, I do still experience what you're describing. I haven't tried vestibular therapy but may do so eventually.
I utilized vestibular physical therapy several years ago. I maintained the exercised daily. Remission for a year and a half or so, then crazy ear pressure and several vertigo attacks. Last December, went to the VPT again for three sessions. She said nothing more to do as my balance was great. VPT does not prevent attacks, but It definitely helps My brain compensate. So yes, it has helped me. My two cents for what that's worth these days! Haha
