Hi Donamo, I just hope they can find out what I have because I can't wait for an ENT appointment. I've worked 2 weeks out of the last 5 and would like some answers. Tinnitus, brain fog but no vertigo, hearing loss or fullness. Respiralogist thinks Labyrinthitis or Eustachian tube issues but seeing I can't get in to see an ENT doctor until 2024 I will try anything. Not sure how much they can detect but this is better than nothing. With our medical system the CT was a lot easier to get than an MRI.
What is it that is keeping you from work? Is it the brain fog? If I understand you properly, you have tinnitus and brain fog only, is that correct? Is the brain fog continuous or does it come and go? Also, do you live near the USA border?
Hi Donamo, The brain fog is what's keeping me from going to work and it is continuous. The tinnitus I can handle. Yes, I do live 5 minutes from the border and I am a US citizen.
Oh wow, just go across the border and get what ever you want! It cost me $400 (several years ago) for a very complete testing by an ENT doctor. Also, brain fog is one of the aspects of long Covid. Did you get Covid? It is being treated by the same drugs as ADHD (Adderal?) . This may be silly, but have you tried some of the caffeine drinks like Red Bull as an experiment?
You got that right! It stinks. My fellow Canadian sheep think it's "FREE" What a joke. As with any government run endeavor, it probably costs us twice as much in taxes for very poor care. You can easily wait 12 to 16 hours in the emergency room and then just get substandard care. A lot of Americans complain about the cost of their health insurance. They shouldn't! It's a bargain and great care is available to all. Although there are a lot of socialist ideas creeping in right now, be careful.
Hi, C John, CT scans give you a very high to radiation. If I were you I’d get an MRI. Please be cautious and be firm and see if you can get the MRI. It’s your brain that they’ll be frying!. MRI’s cost a lot, harmless and won’t radiate you!!
"Oh, I didn't know that Lynne. Thank you for that information." I re-read my comment and it sounded like one could take it as being sarcastic or something. Absolutely no sarcasm intended - a genuine thank you CanadaJonn - what about a Covid reaction - is that a possibility?
Do amp, Thank you. I didn’t think you were being sarcastic. I just felt I should bring about the awareness. Even if I don’t have MD, I have my issues- headaches, different types of vertigo, etc., I feel like I’m in the same boat and my heart goes out to all. What we go through is horrific and need support from one another! ❤️
@CanadaJonn - Severe Brain fog & tinnitus & migraines can also be a symptom of internal jugular vein compression. It would be worthwhile seeing an interventional radiologist or vascular doctor to get that aspect checked out. Some recent medical research has found a link between IJV compression & hearing loss/Meniere's type symptoms.
