I have only one hearing ear and recently it has had a CH relapse so that all sound is distorted and i have lost some of the lower ranges. Just amplification doesnt work because of the distortion. Electronics like tv are very hard for me to make out because of the distortion. Yet if i put the iphone on my shoulder in a quiet room i can listen to an audio book, albeit a little lacking in the bass tones. I would like to watch tv again with sound. I was wondering if there is an earphone that would have better sound quality and therefore less distortion to me. I am not up to speed on sound systems for about the last 25 years so i thought someone might offer me suggestions. I dont even know what could connect to the tv or if i need a new tv. Mine is probably 10 plus years old. Thanks.

June, someone on this forum can advise you, but I am not that person. However, the only way I can use my phone is by using bluetooth through my hearing aid. You need a new TV with the latest technology so that you can listen to it through some device. Good luck!

[IMG]I have the same problem. I got a Bluetooth box for my older TV. I can only listen through headphones. I have 3 pair of headphones. I also have 2 pair of these Shokz Bone Induction Phones. I like them better as they don't cover your ear and you can still hear phone or doorbell ring.

June, we are in the same boat as I am completely deaf in one ear (laby) and CH in the other. I use Bose Bluetooth noise canceling headphones with an LG TV from 2022 that allows simultaneous sound output to tv speaker and Bluetooth headphones so my wife and I can watch simultaneously.

thanks. Yes that is exactly my situation except a different op left me deaf but same outcome. I got the nc earphones today, not Bose. I can hear with them when i stream the tv to the ipad, but of course voices still sound very tinny but i can hear the words except when it is the tv program playing a clip from a previous broadcast. Something about electronic sound my wonky ear does not like. But at least i can hear a news show. The earphones are physically uncomfortable but useable. I should get a newer tv that has bluetooth.

I also use the shokz bone conduction. I'm not fully deaf in the left but have a dead ear on that side with no functional hearing. The bone conduction almost gives me the illusion of double sided hearing when using them.
