Hello out there! I was diagnosed with Meneries in 2011 but only had 3 or the 4 hallmarks - vertigo was not present at the time. I started having the vertigo a few years later. Then it stopped. Then it started again in 2021 (I was under severe distress due to unemployment and the covid-thing). Has anyone else had an experience where they had the vertigo come later? Then off and on?
Same here. Unlike what I heard, vertigo first then hearing loss. I lost half hearing in right ear, one year later lost rest of hearing in same ear. Year three had 4 vertigo attacks in a month. Been 8 months without vertigo attacks. Expecting vertigo will comeback. That’s why I thing MD is a herpes like virus. It’s in the ear like the herpes virus is in the body. From time to time you have herpes outbreaks like with MD you have vertigo outbreaks from time to time.
Vertigo didn't hit me till 2 years after diagnosis. Slight dizziness on occasion and all the other chaos. After first bad vertigo, went to another ENT for all the testing and Confirmed menieres. Changed up diet, Vestibular therapy, Pycnogenol, vitamins. After 6 or so months of chaos, started feeling much better. Finally got to a remission phase for 1 1/2 years or so of feeling great . Then one day, a slight vertigo attack. Week later, another. Then chaos again.... These days, feeling better. Been on the SPI-1005 phase 3 drug trial with the real drug for over 3 months now. Slow, but each day is an improvement. Back to driving, duck hunting, etc. Within reason. I don't overdue it! Last few days, ear has been off. The disease let's me know it's there. I can say the best thing along with the trial drug would be JOH regimen and antiviral high lysine/low arginine eating .
Oops just reread your post. I haven’t had MD long enough. But I guess I’ll deal with it like the A-fib and nuisance cancer I’ve had for 11 years… challenge excepted!!
Yes, in fact they would not diagnose me because of the lack of vertigo. When it hit though (years later) , it was not fun. Vertigo has since subsided to almost nothing. Jim
