Hello everyone…..wanted to share some updates.
I haven’t been to the doctor here in Tokyo for a little while. The last time he mentioned that blood circulation could be an issue because I have cold hands and feet (only in cooler temperatures)….
Anyway I decided to really kick my workouts into high gear….get the blood moving all day. I do a lot of cardio and weight training. I have also started jiu jitsu classes.

    I haven’t had a vertigo attack in a long time…..
However I still have pppd that seems to never go away…..along with tinnitus that comes and goes……and the head pressure that comes and goes……

So I’m not 100% better but I’ll take what I can get.

I recently had blood work done to look at my hormone levels….I’ll get results next week.

Before all this started I was under a lot of stress for years and was having panic attacks…(haven’t had a panic attack since my MD diagnosis)
Just checking to see if all the stress knocked my hormone balance out of whack…

I really think stress was a major factor in my situation.

pppd is a constant feeling of dizziness…

if you have ever had too much to drink and had that rocking feeling…..that’s what it’s like in your head….not sure I actually physically rock or sway…..

I developed it after a few strong vertigo attacks….
It’s been a constant for years and I have tried everything to make it go away. For me, it’s the absolute worst symptom. I would much rather have a few strong vertigo attacks per year than 24/7 pppd…

When I had strong vertigo attacks the pppd would go away for a day or two but would come back.

I’m currently injured from jiu jitsu class and haven’t been able to workout for almost 3 weeks…..

Ironically my pppd and tinnitus is strong at the moment…..definitely a small amount of aural fullness…..

could be because I’m not exercising enough….
Or the inflammation from my injury kick started my MD…..
Or the changing seasons really affect me…

so many possibilities and it’s difficult to find correlation.

Awful! Being constantly dizzy. I feel slightly unsteady most of the time, but with the balance center essentially destroyed in one of my ears from years of fullness, I guess that's to be expected.

I would suggest you rule out a cervical spine imbalance, especially since you do martial arts. The best one is one who uses the Palmer Method with a drop headpiece on the table AND a nerve scanner to tell the doctor exactly where you may have the cervical spine imbalance. I have to go every 2 to 4 weeks and it makes a wonderful difference. Other chiropractors didn't help me. The scanner also reveals whether the adjustment was successful.

The other factor for me is inflammation which I try to control with my improved eating habits.

I don’t notice the pppd when I’m in motion so I try to stay active all the time

I have been to every type of doctor that I can think of to find answers……the only person to tell me they can fix me was a chiropractor…..which I honestly don’t believe…
However they definitely helped with neck pain…..
I believe a good massage therapist can do the same though.

I still think it could be a structural problem with my jaw but I went to a specialist at a large hospital in Tokyo and they told me my jaw was fine……

I just had hormone levels checked and that was fine….

For two years I went on an extremely strict diet……. I lost a lot of weight but didn’t notice any difference compared to how I eat now…..which is still very clean but I allow myself to eat more carbs…
I don’t watch salt intake at all. For me that was never an issue. I only think that is a problem for people that are eating a poor diet in general…..for them salt probably isn’t the only issue, it’s inflammatory foods….

I tried the antiviral supplements for over a year but it didn’t make any difference. Also my bloodwork doesn’t show any viruses to be a possible cause….

I think MD is a variety of symptoms that are the result of different causes.

Hopefully AI will figure it out soon ;)

My cervical spine imbalance involves no neck pain. It only shows up on a special 5-view x-ray (one view taken through my mouth) that shows my Atlas and C-1 do not align. When my Palmer Method chiro uses his short, painless little "karate chop" at exactly that vertebral junction, about a day afterward, I notice that my brain is clearer and I feel free, at least for awhile, from vertigo attacks.

You might want to check out the website Caring Medical to read about the array of symptoms that go along with poor vertebral alignment.
