After several very serious attacks of MD induced vertigo, nausea and paralysis, I adopted a low salt diet, increased my water intake and adopted the John of Ohio regime. I'm pleased to say that I have had no further attacks since making these changes in May 2023.

I'm wondering whether I can travel by air without fear of problems. I would like to know whether the changes in cabin air pressure during a flight can trigger a MD attack?

Thanks Kath, great to hear that you've not had problems with flying. I'm wary about trying it, as my MD attacks were so awful!

I fly twice a year and have no problems. Sometimes it almost seems to help!

I suggest you research your low salt routine, many people did not find it helpful.

    Thanks Donamo,

Good to hear that you're Ok with flying. In my case salt is definitely an issue and I try to restrict my intake to about 1 gm per day.

No issues flying! I do bring chewing gum to alleviate pressure changes, might want that.

    Good luck!

For me my ear clears while flying I could hear much better and then when I go down my ear fullness is back .

I was concerned about this too but I’ve take a number of trips without any negative impact.
