I just stumbled on this site while researching viral induced vestibular neuritis. I'm hoping for direction. I'm 42, and on Christmas Eve morning I woke up with extreme dizziness (drunk feeling). I've never experienced this before and the symptoms have not gone away. I'm going on a month now. I feel like I'm constantly swaying or bouncing and have whooshing in left ear when laying, and a high pitched constant ringing. Doc said mild fluid on ears - tried antihistamines, NSAIDS, chiropractic, garlic willow drops, collodial silver, nebulizing saline/H2o2... I have a ENT appt next week. Just after this started I had a bad cold sore, and covid was likely present (though I had no obvious illness) which peaked my interest when I read many are using antivirals I began reading here and feel much less alone! I'm wondering if this is similar to others experiences? I have no nausea, do have mild and random very short- lived headaches, fatigue, and vision seems strained. I appreciate any insight and suggestions - thoughts to share with my PA
Hopefully your ent is well versed in menieres. If you’ve read through some of the other threads, you’ll see that different treatments work (or not) for different people. That’s the nature of MD and one of the many challenges . I had blocked ear and foggy feeling for 3 months (thought it was allergies) before I had my first vertigo episode. I didn’t get diagnosed with MD until several months later. I am currently getting acupuncture as well as craniosacral therapy and Ayurvedic treatments to find balance again with in my system. I started prednisone in the meantime and it has definitely helped me. If it is MD and is triggered by viral…you might also take a look John of Ohio supplement protocol - it appears that people have success with that as well as lifestyle and diet modifications. Hopefully you don’t have MD and your ent will have a fix.
