Has anyone heard of PRP treatment ? Plasma rich platelet therapy ? My girlfriend has been diagnosed with meneieres disease and what a terrible thing it is for anyone who got it and for they're loved ones to watch them go through it . I have been doing so much research in to it as the NHS here in britain are just clueless and useless . I read an article where UFC president dana white got told about this PRP treatment by a new York yanks basemen (baseball player) . Who both has meneieres also , they both had this PRP treatment and both said it has worked for them , I was just wondering if anyone on here has heard or had it done by anychance as I'm looking in to paying for it for my girlfriend. it's been a nightmare trying to find a clinic here in the UK that does it but finally found one . Has anyone heard or had or know anything about please
If you do a search on this forum for Dana White, you will come up with a couple of pages of threads discussing his treatment. It certainly is interesting, and tempting. It is hard to find "ordinary people" that you can actually talk to that have had this treatment. If you do go for it, PLEASE be sure to report back here. And best of luck for your gal.
I spoke to a clinic 3½ hour drive from where I live the consultant is going to phone us back on Monday I will definitely be back here with updates
Sorry if silly question, but Where do u think the do injection? In ear??? Or nearbY? Could never quite tell from Dana stories where he had it done & if just happy coincidence from a knee injection? He mentioned a sports star mate with shoulder injury didn't he? Also, my dog is about to have something similar for his shoulder in his shoulder! Do u think this blood spin injection is in ear like the steroids option?
There was a new York Yankees baseman who also suffers with meneieres he told dana about he also had the treatment
The treatment you are talking about is blood spinning. It is not legal in the USA. Dana White had it done in Germany. Alex Rodriguez told him about it because he had it done for an injury, he does not have Menierse. Dana white was asked about it at a press conference. He said they removed about a gatorade size bottle of blood from him, then put it in a machine which spins the blood which does something to the cells or something and then they put the blood back in him. He said it was it worked almost immediately. All his symptoms, ear fullness, vertigo etc went away. I don't think his hearing was restored. This is and was not a cure for him. He was good for about a year and his symptoms returned. I believe he had another treatment. This was years ago and he said it cost $10,000 plus travel expenses.
I'm not in the states ik in the UK. I've read Dana doesn't suffer with it no more after PRP TREATMENT EVEN IF IT WORKS FIR A YEAR THATS A BONUS IL JUAT GET HER DONE EVERY YEAR
hi again Scott can you tell me where you are getting it done in the UK please? thanks for that image you shared. But just want to check that you are confident about that clinic you listed. when you look at the font and layout of the site - there are some mismatches - also - contact details that they give are a gmail address; which makes me a bit nervous. just made me a bit worried, personally, that they would be putting a needle into your inner ear. going back to the Dana thing - I'm not convinced at the time; that him or his mate, had the blood spinning therapy done into the ear in Germany - because, when you look into those clinics they mention - they expressly state that the german doctors will only do it on muscular injuries - for which you have to provide them with MRI evidence of your injury. Just noting this to you; as I went down the rabbit hole of trying to explore more about the blood spinning options a couple of years back. anyway - please do share where in the UK you can get it done for 500. i'm tempted - as I also tried 2 x steroid injections via the NHS, which didn't really help at the time.
Don't get anything poked in your ear. If you have Meniere's , it is a auto immune disease. It cannot be easily cured, but the symptoms can be abated. Both sides of the ear drum must be treated. The symptoms are caused by an inflammation of a group of nerves that include sinus, olfactory, auditory, scalp ( back of the neck). To relieve the symptoms anti inflammatorys must be employed. Fatty acids are the best. I use a lotion that I developed for other reasons. Unfortunately you are too far away for shipping. But I could try to give you a method to try. Larry
Hi Larry thanks for reaching out .. she's in the middle of another vertigo attack accompanied by vomiting and very bad tinnitus. If you have anything that will help please fire away thank you
The severe tinnitus was gone, but a slight tinnitus is still there from time to time. I don't know if the tablets helped or if it was just a coincidence.
A partial fix. For the tinnitis, 500 mg Taurine 3-4 x per day. Medical research shows it works. When I developed full blown Meniere's I never got Tinnitis because I had been on Taurine for a year. For the vertigo: Possibly a combination of Krill oil 2000mg x2 per day. Cannot be allergic to shrimp or on blood thinners( contains Docosahexaenoic acid , which among other thing inhibits IgE. Do not take with fiber, it won't absorb well. There is more but see how this works. Larry
