It's been an extremely long time since the last time I posted here. I'm curious how many people can relate to the term disorientation.

These days what I experience is what I can only call disorientation, where up is in front of me, to the right is behind me, and left is up. Any movement I make scrambles this to, up is to my right, left is behind me and who knows where right is. My body's confusion with physical orientation to the world will change radically with any body movement. This is usually just a momentary experience and I can typically end it by standing up straight, closing my eyes and taking a few deep calming breaths. That or I fall flat on my butt and stay there for a few seconds waiting for things to re-orient.

I do not call this vertigo because the world isn't spinning. I get those nasty vertigo attacks as well. If it helps, I've had Meniere's since 1999, diagnosed with MAV a few years later.

This, or a variation, is common when our hearing is diminished and disrupted. I remind myself to walk slowly, to use a walking stick, and to lean on things for stabilization. Our brains are stress and what you stated is an example of what stressed brains do.
