Hi guys, I’m new to the community and glad to be here. I have tried a range of things for my Menieres. Betahistine and Stemetil, corticosteroids, travel sickness pills, rehab exercises, low level laser therpy(for bloodflow to head/ear). I have found things have helped somewhat but not feel that I have something as simple as a decaf coffee or a slightly salty or sugary food and it sets it off again(vertigo). I can live with the tinnitus and decrease in hearing (I now have a hearing aid) but the vertigo is a killer. I can’t work right now or drive. I have an upcoming appointment with a chiropractor who does toggle and recoil, upper cervical adjustments but am also considering doing 3 low dose Gentamicin injections as has been recommended by my ENT doctor. I am based in Ireland also, just for context. If anyone has any experiences with either toggle and recoil upper cervical adjustments or the low dose Gentamicin option, would be great to hear from you? Thanks! Paul
I am recently diagnosed and I am also thinking about the injection and currently looking for an upper cervical chiropractor. I think I would like to try that before the injections. I've only been on the regime 2 weeks so am still to see improvements but they do say it can take some time. Looking forward to seeing any feed back on your post.
Yeh, it’s well worth trying the upper cervical chiroplactic solution to see if it might give any relief. I discovered through an x-ray that this was not a contributing factor for me so I am winding down the chiropractic visits. But if you find that something showed up on the x-ray that might suggest that chirporactic adjustment might give relief, it’s worth exploring. I would say though, not to put too much money into this, if not offering relief or clearly a contributing factor based on a C1,C2 issue showing up. I have an ENT visit next month so I might consider the Gentamicin injections and am also looking into the DASD procedure of Dr. Fabrizio Salvanelli in Rome, though I’m not sure the cost of such a procedure there, as I’m based in Ireland. Anyway thanks for your response, and would love to hear more of your experience. All the best, Paul
