I have had our lovely ailment since May, 2002. I hit supposed "burnout" in December 2014, but in the last few years, my symptoms have started worsening again, especially after one particular steroid injection in my right ear a year ago. The basics: I have severe bilateral Menieres, a cochlear implant, am 78 years old and male, and have had a plethora of other health issues and surgeries. But in the last few months, I have noticed that when I return to our gym on anything like a regular basis, and do extremely light exercises (minor hip extensions, curls, some soft exercises for a torn left rotator cuff, and walking on a treadmill at a pace of about 1.5mph for 30 minutes) I am exhausted for the next two days. I fall asleep often just reading or doing computer work, and often take long naps. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this. To be fair, I am also on heavy pain meds as needed including Oxycodone, buprenorphine patches, Lidocaine patches, Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and Valium for the dizziness. The dosages have been increasing with the exercise. I have accepted the life I have, which is very limited. a third of it lived with Menieres. But the constant fatigue is tiresome, to use a pun. Not sure how to address it; tons of caffeine seem to have little effect (caffeine helps my dizziness, unlike some of you). It may be that given our illness hits each of us in different ways, this is just my special cross to bear. But curious as to the experiences of others here.
