You SHOULD do lysine with the AVs. Take 1000 mg 3x per day on an empty stomach. It will not work if you take it with food.
That's great to hear! Just make sure they don't give you Mylan manufacturer. There have been hundreds of reports that it doesn't work like the others.
I had great results with name brand valtrex and am now doing well with generic Famvir. Good luck! :)

They are one of the safest drugs out there, and many people take them for life. Just have a kidney and liver check once a year to monitor for that...
